The ARI Remix collective acknowledges and respects the traditional and ongoing custodians of the lands where we live, make and work. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging, and acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded. We support the Uluru statement from the heart.

ARI Remix is a living archive; LGBTQIA+, cis, non-binary, trans and BIPOC inclusive, and involves active participation and collaborative collecting engagement by artists, artsworkers, co-creatives, peers and artist groups. It is an enthusiast-led, community-based, non-profit and art ephemera study resource and Web 2.0 art work #ariremix. It is made entirely possible through immense kindness, generosity, volunteerism and collaborative collecting efforts of over 300 Australian artists and significant arts philanthropy;

of this project are supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and have been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body. Stage Three of this project is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.

actually nick number 1 loved reading crime novels in the bathtub...it was his favourite past time particularly on weekend mornings...i often disturbed him on such weekends as it was my time off from the ima and despite making him grumpy we enjoyed art and life banter over a cuppa while he was wearing a very tattered bathrobe..either sitting at the kitchen table always messy or in the lounge room where the floor was covered chaotically with records interview tapes a multitude of literary criticism books and screeds of lecture or theory articles that he was in various stages of completing....highly organised chaos...i miss him very much...the other nick or nick number 2

Managed to do something approaching Art in the queen street mall back in the 80s only to be told by one shopper that if they had a gun they would have shot me and another that complained to Warrana that my company looked like a satanic ritual. Should have stayed indoors.

Thanks John Waller for this That Space Opening Night review from the Courier Mail in June 1985, a time when Phyllis Woolcock followed in the footsteps of her colleague art critic Dr. Gertrude Langer, the long celebrated Courier Mail art critic. Dr. Gertrude Langer's first review was an exhibition by artist Roy Delgarno at the Johnstone Gallery in March 1953 and the critic continued writing up until her death in 1984.
