Artist Dianne HEENAN was one of many Co-ordinators of the Activities Centre at the University of Queensland Student Union, an A ROOM collective member and was also instrumental in setting up THAT Contemporary Art Space in 1984-1985 wit That Collective. On Monday 25 February 1985 took up the position as Director of The Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum which was also  established in 1985,  a community cultural initiative funded by the Gladstone Regional Council.

A gallery dedicated to promoting art and heritage for and by the communities of the Gladstone region and Central Queensland, acting as a focal point for the preservation and display of the region’s history and cultural heritage.

In 1985-1986 Dianne organised the group exhibition This is That, from the That Collective of artists as a means for presenting new art from Brisbane’s emerging artists and significantly, as a potential rtist-run collective model useful for Gladstone and regional artists.
