LOCAL COLOUR, COMMUNITY, LGBTQIA+, INCLUSION, PARTICIPATION, COMMUNITY ARCHIVING, CULTURAL JUSTICE, STORYTELLING, INQUIRY, ADVOCACY

ARI Remix is a living archive as archival art initiative; LGBTQIA+, cis, non-binary, trans and BIPOC inclusive, and involves active participation and collaborative collecting engagement by artists, arts workers, co-creatives, peers and artist groups. It is an enthusiast-led, community-based, non-profit and art ephemera study resource and Web 2.0 internet art work #ari_remix. It is made entirely possible through immense kindness, generosity, volunteerism and collaborative collecting efforts of over 300 Australian artists and significant arts philanthropy.

The ARI Remix collective acknowledges and respects the traditional and ongoing custodians of the lands where we live, make and work. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging, and acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded. We support the Uluru statement from the heart.

Rebecca Ross lives on Kombumerri Country/Queensland's Southern Gold Coast. Since completing a Master of Fine Art at Queensland University of Technology she has exhibited at the Embassy of Australia in Washington D.C. and Festival 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, and was awarded the Rome Studio at the British School at Rome by the Australia Council for the Arts. Rebecca has exhibited nationally and participated in international artist in residence and research programs in Malta, Italy, New Zealand and U.S.A. In 2013 she founded The Walls Art Space on the Gold Coast which she directed for almost a decade. Her contribution to the Gold Coast arts ecology was recognised with an International Women’s Day Leadership Award in 2020.
